Orbiq #024 — Mobile release

New on mobile

See it before
you place it.

Hi there — new Orbiq on iPhone and Android today. Four things worth opening the app for.

01 · Your dashboard, your layout

Try a widget before you commit to it

Hold any dashboard card and drag it. Tap to swap that slot for something else — and the picker now draws the candidate with your own data, on the window and currency you're already looking at. No stock thumbnails.

If you don't like it, you never placed it. The layout follows your account, so the phone and the web agree.

02 · Charts answer back

Tap a bar, get the transactions behind it

Tap a bar, a pie slice or a point on a line and you get the transactions behind it. Tap a name in the legend to drop that series and let the rest rescale.

Charts with money moving both ways now draw a real zero line, so up and down mean what they look like.

03 · The 44-widget audit

Numbers that admit what they don't know

We went through all 44 dashboard widgets asking whether each figure could actually be true. Ten couldn't — a comparison against a period we hadn't loaded, a percentage that goes strange when there's a refund in the window.

Those now tell you their basis or decline to print. You'll see slightly fewer confident numbers. All the remaining ones are load-bearing.

04 · No surprises

Deletes stop being a surprise

Removing a goal, budget, card or recurring bill now shows exactly what goes with it first. Batch category changes have an undo.

Also in this release

Switch the whole app between currencies from one sheet; share PDF and CSV statements straight in; and the dashboard now comes up with your last-known figures when you open it from a notification, instead of a spinner while the server wakes.
