How it is worked out
The rate you got is what arrived divided by what left. The mid-market (interbank) rate for the day you sent it is the reference every provider quotes against. The gap between the two, times what you sent, is everything the transfer cost you: a visible fee and the margin inside the rate, together. Comparing advertised fees alone misses the second, and it is usually the bigger one.
Rates are mid-market reference rates for the last 90 days, on the day you pick (a weekend or holiday uses the last published rate before it). Amounts that imply a rate far from mid-market are refused rather than reported, because a typo is not a fee. This is arithmetic on the numbers you enter, not financial advice. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
Track every transfer automatically. Orbiq keeps both your countries in one ledger and prices every transfer against the mid-market rate on its own day.
