Ask Orbiq and Siri
Ask questions about your money in plain words, get cross-border tax summaries, and use Siri, Shortcuts and the Action button on iPhone.
Ask Orbiq#
Ask a question the way you would say it, and Ask Orbiq answers from your own data, in your currency. It keeps the thread, so a follow-up can say "and last year?".
- Open Ask Orbiq in the sidebar.
- The first time, switch it on (one consent step).
- Ask. Every answer offers the obvious follow-up.
On a chart, Ask about this opens the assistant already looking at it.
Things to ask#
- How much did I send home this year?
- Where did my savings go last quarter?
- What's my fastest-growing expense?
- How am I tracking against my yearly travel budget?
- Am I on pace for my goals?

Ask Orbiq runs on a monthly AI allowance, shown under Plan & Limits.
Cross-border tax helpers#
- T1135 foreign-asset summary – your foreign accounts, and whether they may cross the reporting threshold.
- Taxable-income summary – the income Orbiq can see for the year.
- FX-gain summary – exchange-rate gains and losses across your currencies.
Set where you file under Settings → Tax residencies.
These summaries are information, not tax advice. Take them to your accountant and confirm anything you file.
What the AI sees#
To answer, Orbiq sends your question as you typed it and totals computed from your data, and the AI narrates the result. Transaction descriptions and account numbers never leave Orbiq, the AI never runs queries against your rows, and the provider does not store or train on what it receives. Clear your chat history any time.
Siri and Shortcuts#
iPhone Siri answers four questions about your money without opening Orbiq, and records a purchase in one sentence. Nothing to set up: once you have signed in, say "Hey Siri" and then:

The answers are the same figures the app shows.
Faster than your voice#
- Shortcuts app → Orbiq lists every action. Add one to your Home Screen, or build it into a shortcut of your own.
- Action button (iPhone 15 Pro and later): Settings → Action Button → Shortcut → Record a Transaction.
- Back Tap: Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap, and pick an Orbiq shortcut. Orbiq → Settings → Quick capture walks you through it.
- Control Center (iOS 18): add the Quick Add control.
- Spotlight finds your categories, goals and bills by name.
- Choose the account quick captures go to in Orbiq → Settings → Quick capture. Otherwise Orbiq uses the one you used last.
Your privacy settings apply to Siri. With Hide amounts on, Siri gives percentages, counts and dates, never a figure. With the app lock on, Siri does not answer: it opens Orbiq so you can unlock first, and Orbiq's names stay out of Spotlight.
Android There are no voice answers on Android. Long-press the Orbiq icon for Quick add and shortcuts to your top budgets and goals; the budget and goal shortcuts hide while the app lock is on.
