Bank sync

Link a Canadian or US bank read-only with Orbiq Connect, use your own LunchFlow account elsewhere, and check Orbiq against your bank.

Orbiq Connect#

Orbiq Connect is the plan for people who would rather link a bank once than import files. Both plans run the same engine; Connect only changes how transactions arrive.

  • Read-only, through a regulated provider. Plaid links your bank in read-only mode. Your bank credentials never touch Orbiq, and Orbiq never sees or stores your bank password.
  • New rows arrive on their own, through the same categorizing, duplicate checks and cross-border detection as an imported file.
  • Mortgages and loans linked the same way keep their balances current, and the payoff schedule re-anchors itself.
  • Coverage: banks in Canada and the US. Everywhere else, use LunchFlow or import files.
  1. Move to the Connect plan under Plan & Limits (it is included in the free trial). Prices are under Plan and subscription.
  2. Open Bank Sync in the sidebar. The row appears once bank sync is available on your account.
  3. Choose Connect a bank and finish the provider's read-only link.

On the Core plan you never link a bank at all. Move to Connect whenever you want hands-off sync, and back.

Your own LunchFlow account#

For banks outside Canada and the US, automatic sync works through your own LunchFlow account. LunchFlow is a separate company: you sign up with them and pay them directly. It is not part of your Orbiq bill. What it costs.

  1. Connect your banks at LunchFlow.
  2. Paste its key into Orbiq once, on Bank Sync.
  3. Transactions arrive on a schedule, through the same pipeline as everything else.

Step by step: the LunchFlow setup guide.

Does Orbiq match your bank?#

Each time an account linked through Orbiq Connect syncs, Orbiq compares its balance with the bank's and shows a quiet ✓ when they agree.

When a gap holds for a day, Find it lists the rows most likely behind it: a charge you typed that the bank also sent, a flipped sign, a hold that never settled. You decide what changes; Orbiq never edits your ledger on its own.

Card not linked? Type a statement's closing balance and Orbiq checks that month against it. A row deleted by mistake can be restored from the same screen.
